SUPERIOR, WI – With the upcoming Spring General Election on April 4, 2023, the Douglas County Clerk would like to remind Douglas County electors that absentee ballots must either be returned by mail, or the voter must personally deliver it to the municipal clerk at the clerk’s office. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has held that the use of absentee ballot drop boxes is illegal under current Wisconsin law. Further, if a ballot is returned to an absentee ballot drop box , such ballot will not be counted.
Please return your absentee ballot through the mail or directly to your municipal clerk. For rural municipal clerk office hours and locations, visit www.douglascountywi.org/MunicipalOfficials. For the City Clerk, visit www.ci.superior.wi.us/75/City-Clerk.
