Put Your Co-Mingled Recyclables in Your Green and Yellow Cart
- Glass bottles and jars
- Metal cans
- Mixed plastics: plastic bottles, containers, lids, and tubs (1-7)
- Paper: mail, office and school papers, magazines and catalogs, newspapers and inserts, shredded paper in a closed paper bag
- Phone books
- Boxes: cardboard boxes, cereal, cracker, pasta, cake mix, shoe, gift, electronic
- Pop and beer cartons
How to Prepare Your Recyclables
- Remove caps and lids
- No need to remove labels
- Rinse jars, cans, bottles
- No plastic bags or foam cups
- If needed, flatten cardboard to fit in cart
- Extra cardboard can be cut and tied into 1x3 foot bundles and placed next to your cart
Cart Placement
- Place your cart out the night before or by 6:00 am the day of collection
- Place the cart away from mailboxes, trees, and telephone poles
- Place cart opening toward the road or street
- Lid should be closed, if possible
- Remove any bungee straps or ropes
- Do not place cart on highway where it could impede traffic or create an accident

- Avoid products with excessive packaging
- Buy in large sizes when possible
- Avoid individual serving sized packaging
