HOW? Get a biohazard safe container free at the Duluth Clinic Pharmacy. Take the container home and fill it with your used sharps (needles, syringes, and lancets). When it is full, return it to the Duluth Clinic Pharmacy to exchange your full container for an empty one.
To reduce the health risks presented by used sharps, the State of Wisconsin adopted rules in 1994 that say sharps must be safely treated, packaged, and disposed of but cannot be put in the garbage or recycling containers - not even when placed in a can or bottle.
