Probate Benchmarks

Douglas County is in the 10th Judicial District. The 10th District Circuit Court Judges have adopted a benchmark of 12 months for closing all probate matters. Wisconsin Statutes require that all estates are to be settled as soon as reasonably possible and without unnecessary delay.

The 10th District Circuit Court Judges have adopted a benchmark of 4 months for filing the Inventory in all probate matters.
