The Forestry Department serves the public with several permits available for gathering boughs, firewood, cutting Christmas trees, and special wilderness camping. The Forestry Department also assists the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with the issuing of
burning permits.
All permits are available at the Douglas County Forestry Department Office located on Business Highway 53 in Solon Springs, which is approximately 30 miles south of Superior.
